Provides round-the-clock disaster relief services, emergency communications between military personnel, veterans and their families; blood services; safety and health courses; health screening; youth leadership training; and volunteer opportunities and training to those who want to help.

AIDS Community Alliance
Provides all clients with case management, supportive services, and access to other HIV-related services with sensitivity to their individual needs.  Communicates medically accurate information regarding prevention, transmission, and treatment of the disease through educational programs and community outreach in Lebanon County.

Arc of Dauphin & Lebanon Counties
Offers support and services to children and adults with mental retardation and their families to enable them to locate and use services in their communities.  The Arc's advocate serves as a resource and problem-solver.

Big Brothers / Big Sisters of the Capital Region
Helps youth primarily from single-parent homes.  Youth are matched with qualified, caring mentors who help them develop positive life skills.  Several program options are available for mentors and youth.

Boy Scouts - Pennsylvania Dutch Council
Instills values in young people to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential.  Programs for youth from kindergarten to age 20 emphasize building character, citizenship, and mental and physical well being.

Catholic Charities
Provides professional, individual, marital, family and group counseling in a wide spectrum of problem areas such as: mental health issues including depression and anxiety disorders; parenting; physical, sexual and mental abuse; and pregnancy.  Also helps clients obtain other services in the community as needed.  Serves individuals and families of all ages regardless of ability to pay.

Compeer of Lebanon County
Coordinates and supports friendly relationsips between people in recovery from mental illness and caring volunteers.  Through one-to-one "matches" and "Compeer Calling" telephone support, people in recovery may decrease social isolation, reduce hospitalizations, and develop a "sense of belonging" in the community.  Compeer reduces the stigma experienced by people recovering from mental illness by helping people to be seen (and to see themselves) in a different light with help of a Compeer volunteer..

Cornwall Children's Center
Offers developmentally appropriate programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers; a before/after school program for kindergartners through fifth graders; a summer school program; and inter generational experiences for the children and Cornwall Manor residents.  United Way moneys provide tuition assistance for those in need.

Developmental & Disability Services of Lebanon Valley
Provides early intervention services (Developmental Instruction, classroom and home settings; Speech, Occupational & Physical Therapy) to children ages 0-5 with disabilities and learning delays; a nursery school program for typical children; job coaching for adults with disabilities; Children and Parent (CAP) program for parent education; and advocacy services through the Elks Home Service nurse program and the Accessible Communities Today (ACT) group.

Good Samaritan Homemaker Home Health Aide Agency, Inc.

Halcyon Activity Center
Offers clients with mental disabilities social rehabilitation services designed to promote community integration, development of living and self management skills, and improvement of social competencies.  In an average month, the center serves 100-110 individuals with mental illness and 50-65 persons with mental retardation.

Hispanic Outreach Program
Provides case management to those with language and cultural barriers.  Offers diversity training, programs specifically designed for the Latino community, advocacy, representation on local boards and task forces, and awards annual educational scholarships.

Hope - Helping Our People in Emergencies
Interviews clients to determine needs and extent of services required.  Provides food, clothing, and prescription assistance on an emergency basis.  Refers clients to other agencies for additional assistance.

Helps adults improve reading, writing, math, and English as a second language skills. Offers Literacy Volunteers of America's basic literacy tutor training.  Matches trained volunteer tutors with clients.

LUTHERCARE - Child Care Programs
Provides full-time quality child care services from six weeks to 12 years of age.  Service available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.  United Way funds provide scholarships to help working families afford quality child care.

Mental Health Association in Lebanon County
Educates and advocates for issues of mental health for all the different population groups in the community.  Works for the prevention of mental and emotional illness and for the adequate care and treatment for those suffering from these illnesses.

MidPenn Legal Services
Provides free legal counsel and representation to low-income families.  Caseloads include domestic violence, welfare, elderly, homelessness, social security, and other poverty related issues.  Increases access to the justice system for poor families, helps foster independence, and addresses both the symptoms and root causes of poverty.  Last year, MidPenn's Lebanon office handled 800 cases.

PROBE - Potential Re-entry Opportunities in Business & Education
Offers free intensive career counseling with confidential assessments of basic skills and personal needs. Sexual Assault Resource & Counseling Center (SARCC)
Support, counseling, accompaniment and advocacy to victims of sexual assault and their family members.  Provides education and prevention programs to county residents.  Last year, the center provided 805 clients with 10,336 hours of counseling and 154 school/community programs to 2,645 adults/children.  It received 2,000 calls on its 24-hour hotline.

YMCA
A membership and community service organization that seeks to develop the total person - spirit, mind and body - through character development programs that build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.  Provides over 200 programs for all ages along with 3 outstanding facilities; the A.L.
