The Three Little Cubs

One fine day in late summer three little cubs have left their mother's den and set out to survive in an emerald sea we call a forest. The golden orb called the sun is bright, warming their fur. The breeze is gentle, causing ripples to move across their fur. They pad along a game trail discussing where they shall make their dens.

After a few miles the game trail drops down along a stream where a doe is quenching its thirst. The doe, upon spotting the three cubs, turns and bounds into the woods. As the three cubs watch it disappear from sight through the trees, the first one says to his brothers. "I shall build my den here upon". The third cub turns to him and says "You shall be sorry indeed". The first one replies "Nay, there is water to quench my thirst and apparently there is game to fill mine belly". The first cub then turns and starts to dig with his strong, young paws at the soft earth.

The other two cubs turn and proceed on down the path. Onwards they pass and into a part of the woods where the trees grow thick. So thick are the trees that one can not see for more than a few paces to either side of the path. The second cub says to the third "I shall make my den here". The third cub says to the second cub "Thou art making a grave mistake!". The second cub says "Nay sibling, the woods are thick and will hide me from the game that I need to hunt to fill mine belly". The second cub then turns and starts to dig his den down under the roots of a ancient and mighty oak that spans to the heavens themselves.

The third cub pads off down the game trail. Moving on till he comes to a place where huge boulders spring from the earth, reaching for the blue shy above. Glancing about, he realizes that he can see danger coming from a long ways off in every direction. Picking a spot, he rips chunks of earth from under one of the great boulders. Digging down deep under it till he is gone from sight.

The first cub has finished his den made of earth. A large, mangy human races out of the woods as the first cub is admiring his new den. The cub, upon seeing the human huffing and puffing right towards him, leaps into his den and pushes some dirt into the entrance. The human races up to the den shouts out "LITTLE CUB, LITTLE CUB, LET ME IN!!". To which the first little cub replies "NOT BY THE FUR ON MY CHINEY-CHIN-CHIN!!". The human responds "I'LL HUFF AND I'LL PUFF AND I'LL WHIP OUT MY FULL AUTO UZI AND BLAST YOUR DIRT DEN IN!!". The human reaches around to his side and whips up his Uzi. Squeezing the trigger on full auto, he blasts the top of the dirt den off exposing the cub within.

As the human reaches for another clip for his Uzi, the cub leaps up and races off down the path towards where his siblings have gone. Upon reaching the second cub's den, the first cub sees that he has just finished. Racing up to the second cub, he warns him that a human is chasing him. They flee inside the den made from roots of the mighty oak as the human charges out of the woods. The human upon reaching the den shouts out "LITTLE CUB, LITTLE CUB, LET ME IN!!". To which the first and second little cubs reply "NOT BY THE FUR ON MY CHINEY-CHIN-CHIN!!". The human responds "I'LL HUFF AND I'LL PUFF AND I'LL WHIP OUT MY FULL AUTO UZI AND BLAST YOUR ROOT DEN IN!!". The human reaches around to his side and whips up his Uzi. Squeezing the trigger on full auto, he blasts the top of the root den off exposing the cubs within.

The human has run out of ammo once again as the first two cubs leap up and race down the trail in the direction that the third little cub has gone. As they flee down the path, they come to the clearing where the third cub sits on the rock his den is hidden under. They race madly up to him with tongues lolling out the sides of their muzzles. He stands in consternation at the excitement they created. Gasping for air, the first two little cubs warn the third that a human is chasing them. He invites the first two inside his den as the human sprints out of the woods and towards the three little cubs. The human upon reaching the den shouts out "LITTLE CUB, LITTLE CUB, LET ME IN!!". To which all three little cubs reply "NOT BY THE FUR ON MY CHINEY-CHIN-CHIN!!". The human responds "I'LL HUFF AND I'LL PUFF AND I'LL WHIP OUT MY FULL AUTO UZI AND BLAST YOUR STONE DEN IN!!". The human reaches around to his side and whips up his Uzi. Squeezing the trigger on full auto, the human blasts away. The cubs in the stone den hear a few rounds go off before silence once again falls upon them.

For awhile they debate whether it is a trick the human is playing or not. Yet after an hour of silence they climb out of the stone den to find the human dead on the ground. A bullet ricocheting off the stone den flew back and hit the human between the eyes. Killing him instantly. The third cub turns to his siblings and remarks

"They are not very bright creatures, are they?".
